International Business Exchange (IBEX) announces the acquisition of Murray’s Delicatessen, Inc. by Curly Fries, LLC on September 24, 2020. IBEX served as the exclusive merger and acquisition advisor throughout the deal.
Murray’s Delicatessen has been serving deli style food, with a West Texas flair, since 1984. It is one of the best-known restaurants in Midland, Texas and has been repeatedly named Best Sandwich by the Midland Reporter Telegram. Located one of the busiest intersections of this thriving city this delicatessen style restaurant serves a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers, homemade soups, salads and homemade desserts, along with beer and wine. In addition to dine-in at their 5500 sq ft restaurant, they also offer take away, delivery and catering.
“Our family has always loved food. Being in the oil and gas industry, we never thought we’d have the opportunity to experience life as a restauranter, but this opportunity came up and we never turn away a good opportunity. Murray’s Deli is a Midland, TX staple. Anyone who’s been in the area for more than a few days likely has experienced this cozy deli and its yummy food. We wanted the opportunity to keep a good thing good, but add a few fun, new options. We plan to add a wood-fire brick oven for specialty pizzas and a raised patio for that extra-special dining experience. The purchasing experience was more than interesting. We’ve closed many oil and gas deals, and this was very different. The process was long and harder than I imagined. The paperwork required on all of our lives was a little overwhelming. Worth it in the end, we made our deadline by a split hair, but definitely a process…EAT MORE CURLY FRIES.”

“Only in west Texas this could happen. Serge Eberhard from Luxembourg and France and Dale McInvale from Alabama could ever think of buying a business in Midland. In 1998 we decided to take a chance and buy Murray's Deli from one of our friends. After 22 years of partnership, we have decided to retire. Serge will be staying on in Midland for about a year, then moving on the Florida to be closer to his sister and brother in law. I will be staying in Midland with my wife. Hopefully we both will play lots of golf.”
